I'M HANNAH KATHLEEN.
Entrepreneur, Speaker, Award-Winning Blogger & Singer Songwriter, with a passion for business and making things happen. I do what I love and I love what I do, and my goal is to help you ignite that same passion within you.
I started my entrepreneurial journey at the age of 13 when I created my first website, a fashion blog, as a creative outlet during the darkest period of my life. I was at home from school, fed up and depressed, due to illness having taken over my life.
My teen years were taken over by a series of infections, the Swine flue, glandular fever and chronic fatigue syndrome, but that low point opened to the doors to the possibilities that come along with the new digital world we live in.
I didn't quite know how I was going to navigate the unknown landscape of illness and missing school, but that little old blog I started was my saviour during my darkest time.
I would spend hours upon hours playing with HTML coding and image editing softwares, determined to model my site off of the famous bloggers I was following who inspired me so much and had a budget for web design.
I soon became pretty tech savvy and established a small but loyal following online that opened the doors for me to work with some of my favourite brands including Daniel Wellington and boohoo.com. Not only that, but I also found myself attracting the attention of small business owners who were curious as to who designed my website and logo (and so on...), and upon realising that I had set it up myself, they enlisted me to do the same for them.
Now, I found myself understanding business and attraction marketing strategies: I had a skill that could help someone, and that was skill was monetisable.
Looking back on the past...
While this was all happening, I was still in the process of managing my health struggles and at age 16, my health took a turn for the worse. It got to the point where it was no longer feasible for me to continue schooling, and so with my parents support, I made the decision to take some time off school.
Upon doing so, I became more fascinated than ever by the power of the internet and realised the skills I had accumulated from blogging could help so many entrepreneurs.
Soon, I was spending every waking hour digesting content; learning as much as I possibly could about this 'internet marketing thing' through webinars, ebooks and online courses.
Eventually I found my first business coach and my mindset towards the internet marketing world shifted. It was no longer a hobby for me, now it was a viable career path.
I was now no longer in school and with a fire in my belly stronger than ever before. I saw the vision, I understood the possibilities and I threw myself in. I took myself out of my comfort zone and pushed myself more than ever.
Just after my 18th birthday, I attended my first international business conference in Las Vegas, and that signified my introduction to the business world - offline. Now it felt more real to me than ever, and I returned from Las Vegas even more committed than before.
However, most people in my life had no idea what I was doing tapping away at my computer and I feel as though many of them thought I was wasting my time on a pipe dream. I found this to be really difficult to deal with and so had a lot of trouble dealing with the mental aftermath of my illness and the challenges surrounding the perception of my of leaving school, even though it was as a result of ill health.
So many people told me I would never succeed, but I didn't let that deter me.
When I was 19, I decided to go all in. I let go of all of the opinions, nay-sayers and traditional mindset, and decided that I would be my own support system.
Fast forward to now, I have a global business having reached clients on 5 continents, spoken in over 10 countries.
That skillset and vision has culminated in the creation of iGen Creative (formerly Branding Marketing Results) which is my company; a creative branding and marketing agency serving clients internationally in building their brands and businesses.
Not only that, I've also had the pleasure of spending time with some of the world's most talented entrepreneurs, including Sir Richard Branson.
My goal now is to use my platform, voice and connections to show you how you can design a life to suit you just as I did for myself.
