Dusting off my ski boots
Thanks for coming back to the blog, I am sending all the blessings!
Some of my fondest memories when I was younger are times when my family and I would go skiing together. It was so special and I cherish those memories so much. The build up from the moment the flight is booked to the excitement of getting ski gear ready, the early flights and best of all the windy journey from the airport to the mountainous skiing areas. Ski holidays are just so unique!
Since I have been in Norway, I have been dreaming about hitting the slopes as they are so much more accessible. Norway has some incredible ski resorts just a train or car journey away!
So where do you think I am right now? You guessed it: at a ski resort!
On Sunday, we collected some new skiing gear and travelled from Bergen to Geilo. It was a really relaxed train journey (which I was of course working on!) and the scenery along the way was just breathtaking. Discovering Norway's beauty just never gets old!
I always want to note how incredibly lucky we are to be able to do this safely with everything going on in this world at the moment. For the last 48 hours I have been successfully juggling work in between hot chocolates by the fire, cosy dinners and zooming down the ski slopes.
It is truly remarkable how things work out. I came to Norway for 10 days in September and found myself stranded here due to COVID. Now, almost 6 months later, I'm still here and absolutely loving it! I really appreciate the versatile outdoor activities this country has to offer and cannot wait to explore them even more.
I am sure this is the first ski trip of many in Norway and look forward to what the future holds!
Have you been skiing before? I'd love to know!
